Carol A. Hartline was born in Sycamore, Illinois. Ms. Hartline graduated magna cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Hartline served as an editor for the university’s Law Review. She also studied international law through the University of Bordeaux, France.

Experience

Ms. Hartline concentrates her practice in workers’ compensation defense, employment law, and family law. She is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, and the Winnebago County Bar Association. She has over 20 years of experience. She handles cases from trial through all levels of appeal. She also serves as an Arbitrator in the 17th Judicial Circuit Alternative Dispute Resolution program. By appointment, she served as Chair of the Illinois Bar Association Section Counsel on Workers’ Compensation.

Ms. Hartline has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the Leading Lawyers Network, a distinction awarded to only the top 5% of all lawyers in the state of Illinois. She received recognition in the areas of employment law, insurance defense, and workers’ compensation defense. She was selected by the American Institute of Legal Counsel as one of the ten best in Illinois for exceptional and outstanding client services.

Community Involvement

She is active in various civic undertakings and is currently serving on the board of Milestone. She has previously served on the board of directors for the American Red Cross, Visiting Nurses Association, and the Rockford Dance Company.
