Prairie State Legal Services Celebrates 40 Years

WilliamsMcCarthy LLP joined Prairie State Legal Services, Judge Rosemary Collins and others to celebrate the agency’s 40th anniversary on May 31, 2017 at Prairie Street Brewhouse. Prairie State Legal Services opened its doors on May 31, 1977 and continues to offer pro bono legal work to people who can’t afford to hire an attorney for civil matters. The agency aid stretches north from Peoria and Bloomington, IL to cover nearly 40 Illinois counties.

WilliamsMcCarthy LLP knows the importance of pro bono work and regularly partners with the agency to provide free legal services to low income individuals and families.

The mission of Prairie State Legal Services, Inc. is to ensure equal access to justice and fair treatment under the law by providing legal advice and representation, advocacy, education and outreach that serve to protect basic human needs and enforce or uphold rights.
